A Florida family has filed a police report after a neighbor left them a nasty racist note about their twin daughters, who graduated from high school with honors earlier this summer.

Xanah and Xarah Sproul excelled at their high school in Yulee, Florida, and upon their graduation, their proud parents hung signs from the front of their house congratulating them on the accomplishment.

But last week, a racist neighbor tried to diminish their joy by leaving a letter telling them to remove the 'hideous' posters of the 'ugly fat black [girls]' and urging them to leave the neighborhood.

Beaming! Their proud parents hung these signs from their home. Neighbors hung similar signs for their own children

Xanah and Xarah were members of the National Honor Society at Yulee High School, and also served as section leaders for the school band.

In the fall, they have scholarships to attend Saint Leo University in Florida, where they were admitted to the honors pre-med program. 

'They've been ridiculously hard-working girls ever since kindergarten,' their father, David, told BuzzFeed. 'They've always pushed for the best. As twins, especially, they work together and help each other.'

Proud of their accomplishments, David and his wife Toya hung posters of the girls in their marching band uniforms from the front of their home, adding signs with 'Senior Class of 2020' signs beneath them.

According to the family, several neighbors in their community hung similar signs outside their houses — but it seems that just the Sprouls' signs enraged a racist neighbor.

Hate crime: Mom Toya phoned the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office to file a report

On Thursday, David found a typed, unsigned note in his mailbox. 

'Don't you think enough is enough?' it read. 'It's time to take those hideous posters of that ugly fat black girl down off your house. 

'What a disgrace to the neighborhood. In fact, your entire brood is a disgrace to the neighborhood. Consider moving to a "hood" of your kind. Your neighbors are watching you!'  

The note naturally made he and his wife furious. 

'You see all the things happening all across the country,' he told News 4 Jax. 'It's one thing when it's across the country, but it's absolutely different when it's literally in your own yard, literally in your own house.'

Toya phone the police and filed a report.

'We at the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office do not tolerate racism and hate crimes in our county,' Undersheriff Roy Henderson said in a statement. 'This is out of character for Nassau County and we will continue to investigate this incident. We are proud of the Sproul twins’ accomplishments and hope to get to the bottom of this soon.' 

The story has since spread through Twitter and news outlets, and the Sproul family has received support from their community — who placed a drive-by parade — and around the world. 

David admitted that his teenage daughters 'hate all of this attention,' but he's glad that it shows them 'that there's more love than the hate that's out there.'

'We know we have a great support system and everyone is on our side so we will get over it and get justice,' Xanah said.
