'They're possibly saving people's lives': Influencer The Fat Jewish breaks down the best meme content online amid coronavirus pandemic - as he reveals the one thing he'd NEVER do for likes(10 Photos)

Josh 'The Fat Jewish' Ostrovsky has opened up about how memes are keeping people sane during the coronavirus pandemic, saying that the one blessing is that the 'internet is out of control' with hilarious content.
The 38-year-old influencer told DailyMailTV that like everyone else, he has been 'compulsively scrolling through the same four apps non-stop,' but he insisted that he's not on board with the revolting TikTok challenge that has people licking toilet seats.
'I am, like, professionally dumb,' said Ostrovsky, who has more than 11 million Instagram followers. 'But do not lick a coronavirus toilet seat for likes. I would do almost anything for likes. Honestly, anything for content...not that.'

From a mental health perspective, Ostrovsky believes the influx of memes is helping the fight against coronavirus by keeping people distracted while they're stuck inside.
'We need a distraction, because if you read about coronavirus all the time, you will lose your mind,' he said, noting his frustration with the amount of false information being shared on social media.
'Every one of my dumbest friends is suddenly a scientist and is on Facebook being like, "Here's a graph,"' he explained. 'I'm like, you're a deejay, like, who does coke. I am not going to believe you about a COVID-19 growth graph.'

Ostrovsky's favorite category of memes at the moment is dog memes now that everyone is home with their beloved pets.
'Dogs are the big winner of COVID,' he said. 'We're home with them all day now. There's so much fire dog content.'
He stressed that there is so much happening online right now, including pushup challenges, choreographed dances on TikTok, people having crushes on Andrew Cuomo, and Joe Exotic, the subject of the Netflix's 'Tiger King' docuseries.
'The only person who could keep us kind of sane and not rioting is a gay meth head from Oklahoma who owns like 600 tigers and has multiple husbands,' he said of the infamous zookeeper becoming 2020's breakout star.

'He has emerged as a hero. Him and Wood, the well-endowed man [from the coronavirus texts], have emerged as two our heroes in this time,' he added. 'They're beacons of light.'
Ostrovsky explained that 'mental health is a huge battle' right now that no one is really talking about.
'No one wants to take away from the actual, main issue at hand...there's a real-life actual pandemic,' he said. 'But I think that memes will probably in the long run of this be remembered as really, possibly saving some people's lives.'

Ostrovsky promoted the giveaway on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, urging his followers to swipe up and put in their addresses to receive their four-pack of Babe wine.
'I was trying to think, what can I do in this time to help?' he said. 'I'm not Ralph Lauren. Like, I don't have $10 million.'
The influencer came up with the idea to give away wine when he noticed how many people are having Zoom happy hours with their friends. The goal of the promotion is to keep people in their houses to help flatten the curve.
'I think like everyone could use a little bit of wine right now,' he said. 'And just keep the drunk memes coming.'
