Costco stores nationwide will begin requiring shoppers and employees to wear face coverings effective Monday, May 4. The chain says that masks must cover the nose and mouth at all times while at Costco.
The wholesaler says the requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or individuals unable to wear a mask for medical reasons.
Guest Shopping Limitations
Effective immediately, all U.S. Costco locations will only allow up to two people to enter the warehouse with one membership card.
El Paso, Tx, Kentucky, and Puerto Rico will only allow one person to enter per membership card.
Senior Shopping
The chain says they are also implementing hours for members aged 60 and over and/or people with disabilities.
Starting May 4, select Costco warehouses will open at 9:00 a.m. for individuals meeting the criteria. Other guests will not be admitted between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Priority for Healthcare Workers and First Responders
Effective immediately, anyone who presents a Costco membership card along with official identification proving they are a health care worker (pharmacists and hospital employees included) or first responder will be allowed to move to the front of any line to enter the store.
