A woman's car has sustained serious damage after vigilantes poured paint on it believing she was occupying a second home in a Cornish village.
Sue Skyba garnered dozens of supportive comments after she posted a picture of the damage to her yellow VW Beetle.
She believes she was targeted because people thought she was using a second home near to St. Austell in Cornwall.
But in actual fact it was her son using a friend's empty property as he has an auto immune disease and wanted to be completely isolated.

Describing the attack, which happened at the property in Duporth, just outside St. Austell, Sue, 63, said: 'This happened to my car last night.
'I can only assume people thought it was someone on holiday. My son has an autoimmune disease and my neighbour has kindly let him move into his holiday home as we have to self isolate due to returning from abroad.
'I parked the car outside the house - this happened in Duporth.'
Accompanying the post was a picture of Sue's car covered in white paint, which can often lead to the vehicle being an insurance write-off.
Her son Philip, 40, had been living in his parents' home after splitting from his wife while they visited their other son in Australia.
When the Skybas returned home, they had to self isolate and didn't want to risk Philip's health so he moved into a pal's empty home.

Sue told CornwallLive: 'I'm really angry because I have two jobs, neither of which I can do - I help look after holiday homes, which are obviously closed, and I work in Asda, but can't at the moment because I'm isolating. So I can't work to pay for the repairs on my car.'
She added: 'As well as people dying, there's an awful of hardship and someone adds to it by doing this.'
Signs have also apparently appeared in the village telling second home users to 'stop spreading the virus.'
Locals were quick to support the mum.
Jackie Rose said: 'That's awful! And I bet the moron that did it wasn't even born in Cornwall. I do hope you reported it to the police.'
Samantha Miles said: 'How terribly, terribly sad. This virus has turned some people into saints and others into devils.

'Even if you were a tourist, there are better ways to get your point across!
'What they've done shows a lack of intelligence and common sense.
'Report it to the police, put notes through your new neighbours doors and put a sign on your car shaming whoever did it. It's disgusting behaviour, and I'm so sorry it's happened to you.'
Lynnette Munoz added: 'The idiot vigilantes are everywhere. Disgusting! Report to police and ask if anyone has CCTV.'
Graham Jefferies said: 'A very genuine reason for a holiday let to be occupied. Sorry to see this. Shame some judge before asking questions.'
Marilyn Tregidgo added: 'I'm so sorry this has happened, Facebook has turned into a real witch hunt at the moment and people are constantly judging others rather than working together and helping each other.'
It comes after other vigilante actions were reported across the country involving second homes.
In neighbouring Devon, one family had 'Go home!' daubed on the windscreen of their car while others have had notes fixed to their vehicles.

Meanwhile, furious locals in St Ives, Cornwall have scrawled messages on the beach demanding second home owners leave.
An even more furious sign has appeared in Bala, north Wales, which says 'Go home rats'.
It come as the government urged people not to head to the countryside or to holiday homes, with fears that they could be spreading the virus throughout the nation.
However, despite their pleas, government commands and Boris Johnson imposing a UK-wide lockdown, second homers are remaining defiant and continuing to flock to the countryside in their droves.
Residents of St Ives in Cornwall scrawled a series of messages into the sand on the beach demanding that tourists go home.
Two messages read 'Locals only', while another said 'Tourists please go home'.
In Bala, second home owners were compared to rats in one sign while another message, scrawled on the side of a car, read 'Go home idiots'.
Signs also appeared on a roundabout in Porthcawl, south Wales asking people to turn around.
Meanwhile, a roadside sign in Pembrokeshire also urged non-locals to go home, while a sign in north Wales said: 'Snowdonia is closed. F*** off home!'
