Authorities charged a Milwaukee man with seven criminal charges after he allegedly shot several children who reportedly threw snowballs at his car in January.

What are the details?

According to a WITI-TV report that cites the criminal complaint, several children were having a snowball fight and reportedly throwing snowballs at passing vehicles.
One driver — later identified as 24-year-old William Carson — reportedly stopped his vehicle and opened fire on the group of several children as they tried to flee. Carson struck several children before getting back into his car and driving away.
Three children were struck, according to the complaint. One was shot in the thigh, another was shot in the arm, and a third was grazed but not injured.
Authorities arrested Carson a week after the incident. Carson was reportedly driving under the influence when officers caught up to him and discovered a gun after executing a search on the car. Authorities determined that it was "highly probable" it was the same gun used in the attack.
The station said that Carson reportedly purchased the gun just 11 days before the January incident. He reportedly told police that he purchased the weapon for self-defense.
Authorities charged Carson with two counts of first-degree reckless injury, use of a dangerous weapon, and five counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon.
Carson is due in court on Tuesday.

What else?

One of the adolescent victims told the station that he didn't even realize he was shot until he looked down and saw the blood.
"I saw two holes in my coat and that's when I realized blood started coming out of my arm," the 13-year-old victim said.
The child said that his 12-year-old female cousin was also wounded.
"I saw her walking and she was looking dizzy and stuff," the teen said.
