Shocking moment murder suspect, 28, ESCAPES through cop car window at intersection in Manhattan before six officers tackle him to the ground

A murder suspect attempted to escape from police custody by crawling through the window of a police car at an intersection in Manhattan.
NYPD officers responded to reports of 27-year-old Joshua Wiley being shot twice in the torso Monday outside Amsterdam Houses the Upper West Side of Manhattan around 4pm. 
During the initial investigation, several people were handcuffed and taken into custody. 
One of those people, 28-year-old Raymond Johnson, decided to make a run for it when authorities had their backs turned.  
In the video from ABC 7, a handcuffed Johnson launches himself through an open window from the backseat of a police car.

A person who witnessed Johnson's attempted escape screams: 'The guy's out. Officers!'
Johnson successfully makes it a few steps into the intersection before on-site officer tackles him to the ground and a knife flies across the intersection.  
According to authorities, the knife was dropped by the responding officer.

'He had pulled that knife off the suspect a block away, and the officer was safeguarding it,' the 20th Precinct said in a tweet. 
The two men wrestle for a before Johnson, who loses his shoe during the scuffle, somehow slips away for a brief moment. 
The officer is able to grab Johnson's legs and pull him to the ground before six officers rush to Johnson and tackle him to the ground.  
Johnson struggles with the group of officers before literally being carried away. 
The officer who initially stopped Johnson was treated for a leg injury.

Johnson is charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and escape. 
Wiley, the victim, also faces criminal charges after allegedly picking up the gun and firing two shots. 
He is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. 
Several officers are needed to apprehend Johnson before he is carried back into custody

Wiley was taken to the hospital for serious, but non life threatening injuries.  
Two other men were arrested for fighting at the scene of the shooting.  
Levander Floyd, 29, is charged with obstructing government administration and disorderly conduct. 
Jesse Miranda, 30, is charged with assault.
All four men will be arraigned on Tuesday and the suspected weapon has not been apprehended by authorities. 
An investigation is underway to determine if Johnson was rear cuffed before his escape.
