While President Trump is busy shooting down writer E. Jean Carroll’s claims that he sexually assaulted her in the mid-’90s, the first lady is throwing herself into work.
On Monday, Melania Trump announced that she will be expanding her Be Best program — which tackles children’s issues, cyberbullying and opioid addiction — by appointing 21 Be Best ambassadors from various government agencies to, according to a press statement, “help further the first lady’s goal of educating children and parents about the issues they face, and promoting programs and services available to help them with today’s challenges.”

Though supporters have championed the first lady’s work, Be Best has also frequently been criticized by those who say it’s hypocritical of FLOTUS to fight bullying without speaking out against her husband’s own controversial online behavior.
But the timing of her latest Be Best announcement — which comes just days after new reports highlighting the harrowing and inhumane conditions faced by migrant children at border detention centers that have been compared by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to concentration camps — has renewed criticism.
