The Girl Scouts organization is facing criticism over a report that they granted a teen their highest award over her efforts in organization a campaign that encouraged abortion.

High school sophomore Meghna Gopalan says that she worked for her Girl Scout Gold Award by promoting women's healthcare and reproductive freedom, a euphemism for abortion.

"I'm planning on hosting an event to educate people about and de-stigmatize access to women's healthcare," she told Tucson Life.

"I've been working with El Rio Reproductive Health Access Project," she continued, "and they offered ideas on reproductive health justice which would broaden the scope of the project a little bit. I got interested in the topic with the Supreme Court nomination of [Brett] Kavanaugh..."

She also joined the Women's March, a organization that was specifically created to combat President Donald Trump and his political policies.

The story was produced for Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona by Tucson Life.
This is not the first time the Girl Scouts organization has been accused of promoting a left-wing worldview. The Girl Scouts denies endorsing any politician or supporting any political issue.
