The 46th annual March for Life was held Friday in Washington, D.C., despite the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Here are some things to know about the annual march.

No. 1: The march got its start in 1973 with a seemingly insignificant protest in response to the landmark Supreme Court decisions of Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton.
In the following 46 years, the March for Life has become the biggest pro-life event in the U.S, according to march organizers.

No. 2: The rally kicked off at 1 p.m. local time at the National Mall and featured various pro-life speakers. Speakers included The Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro, Dr. Alveda King, Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, Archbishop Joseph Naumann, and more, in addition to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
No. 3: Trump addressed the March for Life participants in a pre-recorded address.
In his remarks, the president promised to continue protecting America's unborn children even though Democrats took a majority in the House of Representatives as a result of the 2016 midterm elections.
"Today," he said, "I have signed a letter to Congress to make clear that if they send any legislation to my desk that weakens the protection of human life, I will issue a veto. And we have the support to uphold these vetoes."

He also added, "We know that every life has meaning and that every life is worth protecting. As president, I will always defend the first right in our Declaration of Independence: the right to life."
No. 4: Vice President Pence and his wife Karen made a surprise, in-person appearance at the march.
Though Trump himself wasn't at the march, the vice president and his wife showed up to introduce the president's videotaped remarks.
Prior to introducing Trump's video, Pence delivered his own remarks: "Know that you have an unwavering ally in this vice president, in our family, and you have a champion in the President of the United States. ... Life is winning in America once again!"
No. 5: An estimated 100,000 people — at least — are expected to attend the march.
Despite that, the ABC, NBC, and CBS morning shows all ignored coverage of the massive annual event, according to LifeSiteNews.
Instead, the networks opted to cover Saturday's upcoming Women's March, instead.

  2. The photos that I saw showed where they deliberately avoided shooting a full crowd scene, unlike the "womens" rights march where they show and expansive, and endless crowd.

  4. Ok, you got me! Now I believe in the big invisible man in the sky who loves me more than anything, but who will torture me for all eternity in the most bestial way, if I break his rules...

  5. God gave everyone freewill, even the devil. What's happening is that the devil was/is pretty powerful and is deceiving people. You still have free will. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Its pretty simple. God isnt sending you to eternity to be tortured, you are choosing to be fooled into being tortured for eternity without Christ.
