Federal court filing reveals man targeted a female US senator with violent death threats

A New York man is behind bars after reportedly issuing death threats to an unnamed female U.S. senator.
The New York Post reported that 41-year-old David Brogan — whom they referred to as a "pro-life Trump supporter" — is the suspect behind the threats that were delivered in a voicemail earlier in December.

What were the voicemails all about?

One of Brogan's voicemails reportedly said, "If I see you on the streets, I'm gonna f***ing light you up with f***ing bullets."

Brogan, a Brooklyn resident, also added, "I value the God-given right to life. When I'm in D.C. and you're there, I got your f***ing mark, you stupid b***h."
According to TMZ, Brogan also said, "You watch your a** 'cause I [unintelligible], I'm going to put a bullet in ya."

The message reportedly adds, "If I saw you, I'd snuff your stupid f***ing a**. I'd put a f***ing bullet in you. You watch your a**."
Brogan also reportedly went on to blame the senator for his sin.

"You and your constant lambasting of President Trump," the voicemail said. "Oh, reproductive rights, reproductive rights. You know what? I'm cursing and I'm in sin because of people like you, OK? 'Cause I value the God-given right to life."

The senator's staff reportedly alerted authorities when they received the voicemail.

What about Brogan?

Authorities were able to trace the voicemail back to Brogan, who'd reportedly attended D.C.'s March for Life in 2017 and 2018.
When asked about the voicemail, Brogan reportedly admitted to calling the lawmaker, but didn't remember what he'd said.

Brogan was released on Wednesday on a $50,000 bond. He is subject to home detention and electronic monitoring, according to federal court documents.
