Police body cameras captured an amazing rescue by some Texas officers who didn't hesitate to save a young boy trapped inside his family's burning apartment, WFAA-TV reported.

What happened?

Early Tuesday morning, Balch Springs police arrived before firefighters on the scene of the blazing building. They soon discovered a boy and his mother trapped inside a unit on the second floor. Balch Springs is suburb about 15 miles southeast of Dallas.
"A family was stuck behind a door that was on fire, you know, there was no thinking," Officer Corey Jones, 23, told WFAA. "It was, what can we do to get that family out, right now?"
The boy's mother tried to bust out the window so they could escape but to no avail.
An officer can be heard yelling to the mother and boy to "move back" from the window.
Then, Jones hurled his baton at the second-story window and it shattered.
The child jumped straight out and into the safety of the arms of the three officers who were standing below.
"It's what I believe any officer in this department would do," Jones said. "Not wait for Fire, not wait for anyone else. We're going to do what we can to help anyone that we can."
Within minutes, the fire department arrived and rescued the boy's mother using a ladder.
Neither the boy or his mom suffered serious injury, according to the report.

What else?

Jones said he had joined the Balch Springs department one week after Dallas police officers were ambushed on July 7, 2016, that left five officers dead and injured nine other officers and two civilians. He told WFAA that the bravery shown by the officers had inspired him.
